Airwave: Pussycat Dolls Push the 'Buttons'

I consider them the Spices Girls of 2006. You remember the Spices Girls, correct? The Pussycat Dolls have something different than their British counterparts, and that is they know how to push your 'Buttons.' The single off the group's debut CD PCD (A@M Records) is a catchy song, just like "Beep" "Don't Cha" and "Stickwitu."

Despite the best effort for the Dolls to not be a one hit wonder this song, is good but not that great has the ballad "Stickwitu."

The reason behind me saying that is again the Dolls use the same form of seduction and love for the song to get its message across, and don't say its true but don't all artists want everyone to be in love and in addition, what is love, anyway?

The Dolls who recently performed the song on the Tyra Banks Show have good lyrics and good beats to the song, but then again those who are fans of the girl group would end up saying, "Where the rythum of the song?" which in turn means where the "Hmm" in the song.

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

Typical
Hardly the type I fall for
I'm liking the physical
Don't leave me asking for more
I'm a sexy mama (Mama)
Who knows just how to get what I want and (Want and)
What I want to do is spring this on you (On you)
Back up all of the things that I told you (Told you)

You been saying all the right things all night long
But I can't seem to get you over here to help take this off
Baby, can't you see?
How these clothes are fitting on me
And the heat coming from this beat
I'm about to blow
I don't think you know

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

You say you're a big boy
But I can't agree
'Cause the love you said you had
Ain't been put on me
I wonder
If I'm just too much for you
Wonder
If my kiss don't make you just
Wonder
What I got next for you
What you want to do? (Do)

Take a chance to recognize that this could be yours
I can see, just like most guys that your game don't please
Baby, can't you see?
How these clothes are fitting on me
And the heat coming from this beat
I'm about to blow
I don't think you know

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

Come on baby, loosen up my buttons babe
Loosen up my buttons babe
Baby, won't you loosen up my buttons babe?
Loosen up my buttons babe

I'm a make you loosen up my buttons babe
Loosen up my buttons babe
Why don't you loosen up my buttons babe
Loosen up my buttons babe

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

I'm telling you loosen up my buttons baby (Uh huh)
But you keep fronting (Uh)
Saying what you going to do to me (Uh huh)
But I ain't seen nothing (Uh)

Don't blame the Dolls for trying to leave that everlasting impression and not wanting to end up like the Spice Girls, which as you remember they split after Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) left and slowly Melanie C (Sporty Spice) made a name for herself in her native United Kingdom.

Although that is not the case for the Dolls I believe that they can surely enforce their staying power being remember what made them famous in a short amount of time.

Dixie Chicks 'Not Ready to Make Nice'

Lead singer Natalie Baines got herself in hot water when during a concert in London on the eve of the war in Iraq in March 30, 2003 she commented that she was ashamed that President George W. Bush was from the state of Texas, but in the end not only did fans abandon the groups music but so did country radio station across the country.

The Chicks' new single, "Not Ready to Make Nice" from their new CD Taking the Long Way (Sony Records) doesn't back down from that statement in which Baines says she is not ready to "back down" from her own opinion; which can be true because what is so great is that this country has the freedom of speech.

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I’m still waiting

I’m through with doubt
There’s nothing left for me to figure out
I’ve paid a price
And I’ll keep paying

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I know you said
Can’t you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’
It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they’d write me a letter
Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I’m still waiting

Without the support of country radio and with the Chicks' recent appearance on ABC's Good Morning America the Dixie Chicks have not lost their steam for making music and as noticeable as the crowd was fans still listen to their music.

Did you see them perform the song?

Who would have thought that a comment such as Baines would generate so much controversy and that states that support Bush and with his approval rating down to 30 percent with the addition of the invasion of Iraq for what was deemed a country with weapon of mass destruction (and proven not to have any) she would be right.

Bush should be ashamed that he is from Texas imagine what would happen if after the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York on Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States would have its war in our backyard.

In the end, Baines and the Dixie Chicks should not be "ready to make nice" to one of the most powerful people in the world because he deserves what he gets.

The Wreckers have the 'Good Kind'

The Wreckers formed in 2004 by singer Michelle Branch and fellow singer/songwriter Jessica Harper release the song, "The Good Kind" from their debut CD Stand Still, Look Pretty (Maverick Records) with a message for those who are looking for a meaningful, if not honest relationship.

As review by the previous song, "Leave the Pieces" (Branch's new group 'pieces' together a country feel on www.talonmarks.com) this song has a bit of country in with the addition, of smooth rock, and in the end it's a great song that will have Branch fans wondering where she has been.

Branch, who made a name for herself with her CD The Spirit Room in 2001 and become heard around the world with duets with legend Carlos Santana ("I'm Feeling You" and "The Game of Love") and ventured out to explore the country elements.

The Wreckers will also be on tour with another recoginzable group Rascal Flatts and with The Wreckers' CD being released beforehand it will be a perfect opportunity for those who are not familiar with Branch and Harper to know who they are.

Both who are guitarist do very well in displaying their talent with the song, and not to go unnoticed, but the song also appears on the television soundtrack to the popular teen drama One Tree Hill in which, Branch and Harper made their acting debut and performed the song in an episode.

What a way for them to be exposed to mass audiences and who would have known that after working on the album over a year and a half that they would be in a position to be noticed by music lovers.

Do you want to run away together
I would say it was your best line ever
Too bad I fell for it

And I walked alone
Waiting for you to come along
Take my tortured heart by the hand
And write me off

[Chorus]
Do you know I cry
Do you know I die
Do you know I cry
And it's not the good kind

You forced me to become strong
When I just craved being weak

And you think you know
And I would like to think so
But do you know that when you go
I fall apart

[Chorus]

I'm tired of hiding
Behind these lying eyes
I'm tired of this smile
That even I don't recognize

[Chorus 3x]

Do you know I cry

Michelle Branch fans get ready for a side of her that was tucked away for the last two years.

A Night of 'Confessions' at the Forum

Update: More pictures added to this blog entry from two years ago.

Horse riding, James Brown, Saturday Night Fever and Jesus Christ were the themes on Tuesday night for the second of three night of Madonna's 'Confessions' Tour at the Great Western Forum.

How can a 47-year-old woman who has been the center of controversy for almost half her life still make fans dance away? Why it is just having the energy to do it.

The first segment shows Madonna love of horses and along with a video montage of her recent appearance in June's W Magazine video was shot on a sound stage in Los Angeles.

Much has been said about her August 2005 horse riding accident that left her with nine broken bones and a fractured collarbone...and who knew that only five month after pilates class she would ride again.

While most of the show, focused on her Confessions on a Dance Floor CD (Warner Bros. Records) Madonna did highlight the segment by performing "Like a Virgin" on top of a horse saddle/stripper pole. "This is the only song that isn't about sex," Madonna said. What a woman!

The second segment turned out to be Madonna's spiritual journey with Kabbalah.

The devout spiritualist sang "Issac" with her friend Yitzhak Sinwani and he turned out not be a bad singer. The highlight, when Madonna sang "Live to Tell" while she was strapped into a cross with a crown of thorns. The accappella version sounded great, and it only proves her worth as the most beloved star.

Ah the ABBA-esque Saturday Night Fever disco era. It's back in fashion thanks to our Queen. She did John Travolta proud with her Saturday Night Fever tribute dance. What can I say, but the white suit IS BACK!

Madonna's tribute to rock...what is there to say but go suck on George W. Bush *&^%. "Ray of Light" and "I Love New York" played in guitar mode. YESSS!

What can you say, but you will be HUNG UP on her and for those who don't give a f***, go f*** Bush.

The songlist is as follows:

01. Future Lovers
02. Get Together
03. Like A Virgin
04. Jump
05. Live To Tell
06. Forbidden Love
07. Issac
08. Sorry
09. Like It Or Not
10. I Love New York
11. Ray Of Light
12. Let It Will Be
13. Drowned World
14. Paradise (Not For Me)
15. Music Inferno
16. Erotica
17. La Isla Bonita
18. Lucky Star
19. Hung Up

Afterward, the concert ticket has been saved (pictured above) and with the upcoming "Sticky and Sweet" Tour this was my first concert. Hopefully, I will go to this next one. Who knows? And I also bought the "Confessions" tour keychain. Cost me $5...and now I have the "Confessions" coffee mug for $20.

Overall: Far better and longer than that of the 2004 'Reinvention' Tour where she only performed 14 songs.

Madonna's 'Confessions' Tour preview

Madonna's latest tour focus on her latest CD Confessions on a Dance Floor. Here's what fans can expect: early reviews of the concert give Madonna a thumbs up for what is being called a "fantastic" show.

Her Magdesty channels, Saturday Night Fever, Horse riding equestrian, James Brown, Rock Queen and Jesus Christ. (Have you seen the cruifixation of Madonna during the song, "Live to Tell"?).

Segment One is her love of horseriding, and video from the W Magazine photoshoot. Segment Two is her spiritual side with the inclusion of "Issac" and the namesake's backup vocals.

Following that is Madonna's tribute to rock, ("Ray of Light" and "I Love New York" are updated). Finally the disco era...look out John Travolta you have competition from Madonna herself in the white suit.

What can be said about the Queen of Pop, but "Alright!!!!." The songlist including "Like A Virgin" "La Isla Bonita" "Hung Up."

Madonna, who is not be without controversy also gets politics with attack on President George W Bush (See the original version of "American Life" video).

As for me, I will be going to the concert on Tuesday, May 23 and will give a full report on it. If any of you have pics, reviews, or anything else, please let me know.

Madonna 'Love(s) New York'

The Queen of Pop has returned to the dancefloor with her latest hit "I Love New York" from Confessions on a Dance Floor (Warner Bros. Records).

This is pure Madonna as she is expressing her love for the city that started her career. As she prepares and began her Confessions tour in Los Angeles Madonna has certainly not lost her touch with the audience of fans.

In listening to the song you would have thought that this simple little song would not catch your ear and the truth: Only our Lady Madonna would be able to crack your ear with such a bonified hit.

Where that list of hits she had for the last 23 years and the list keeps growing and growing and growing.

"I Love New York" which will be released as a B-Side single to her other hit song, "Get Together" will have you commanding the dancefloor and you too will say, "I Love New York."

I don't like cities
But I like new york
Other places make me feel like a dork
Los Angeles is for people who sleep
Paris and London
Baby you can keep

[Chorus]
Other cities always make me mad
Other places always make me sad
No other city ever made me glad except New York
I love New York [X3]

If you don't like my attitude
Then you can F off
Just go to Texas
Isn't that where they golf

New York is not for little pussies who scream
If you can't stand the heat
Then get off my street [repeat]

[Chorus]

I love New York [repeat]
Get off my street [repeat]

Since she was first noticed on the dance Madonna who, is known as the woman behind many faces continues to let us guess her next move.

Influence by the 1970s Madonna take you to the streets that began her road to fame and what is there to say but there was so much she should thank the city for and for one creating her as a true "American Idol" (move over, Kelly Clarkson).

No wonder this track is great, because she truly loves New York.

Mariah has 'Somethin'' to say

Mariah Carey's career was revived when she released the album The Emancipation of Mimi (Island Records) early last year.

She is the woman with the most No. 1 hits behind the Beatles and in front of Elvis. To be honest, she is even better than my Madonna but with her lastest single, "Say Something" there is something wrong with this song.

It is not as appealing as "We Belong Together." This sorpano singer starlett vocals are weak and at times in lost in what she is trying to say.

There is no smooth transition in the words as Mariah struggles to express the meaning behind it.

I'm over here
Looking at you
You're over there
Watching me too
Both painting pictures of
Of how we'll kiss and f***

So what we gonna do
(So what ya gonna do? What ya gonna do)
Tell me why we're standing here
The moment's passion's all so clear
You've got my mind blown
And baby, I'm ready to go

But uh
If it's worth your while
Say something, say something
If it's worth your while
Say something good to me
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey
If it's worth your while
Do something good to me

(Let's make it)
Hot as you can stand it
Something like volcanic
You know it seems organic
Just like the stars and planets
Yeah, we are
So what you gonna do
(So what ya gonna do? What ya gonna do)

Tell me why we're still in here
There's nothing for us to fear
I could tell with my eyes closed
Now baby, I'm ready to go

But uh
If it's worth your while
Say something, say something
If it's worth your while
Say something good to me
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey
If it's worth your while
Do something good to me

If it's worth your while
Say something, say something
If it's worth your while
Say something good to me, baby
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey
If it's worth your while
Do something good to me

[Snoop Dogg:]
Everytime I fall though
Want me to speak on the word or two
It's the D-O-double-G
And I do it so lovingly
Diggin' this track by the Neptunes
Babygirl, follow me to the west room
Now get buck wild
Shhh, don't make a sound
I'll take you, lay you down
Make your body go round and round
Do you want me to
Don't say you won't
I know you do
Most girls play shy
It won't hurt until you give it a try
I know you like my smile
Dig my style, dig the bow-wow

But uh
If it's worth your while
Say something, say something
If it's worth your while
Say something good to me
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey
If it's worth your while
Do something good to me

If it's worth your while
Say something, say something
If it's worth your while
Say something good to me
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey
If it's worth your while
Do something good to me

In hopes of getting in right Mariah relies too much on Snopp Dogg as her backup singer to get through the song.

Visit her official website:

Link

As the three time Grammy winner did when she first exploded onto the music scene in 1990 with her self-titled album and had string of hits until 2000 and went under the radar this song from Mimi should have been left off the list.

Furtado shows 'Promiscuous' side

The first time I heard this song was on the radio. At first I wasn't sure who it was, I thought that it was Britney Spears.

If you didn't know, Britney's pregnant. But anyway, Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous" for her CD Loose (Geffen Records) does a good job, and not only that but Timbaland is the backup singer for the first time.

Here's a idea: Why not just record an album together? I think that from a personally view, I would be excited to pick up a CD with a duo that has explored the possibly of a duet and went back again to do the same thing.

If the first worked out well, than the second time worked better. Her vocals are great because it show that she has grown up.

So, basically I am saying paid attention. Her last album Nelly Furtado was not a sucess as her debut album Whoa! Nelly.

The song is based on how far someone will take a relationship and if it is worth. The question is if not, should that person look for someone else? How Promisous are you, that is the question.

[N:] Am I throwin you off?
Nope
[N:] Didn’t think so

How you doin’ young lady
That feelin’ that you givin’ really drives me crazy
You don’t haveta play about the joke
I was at a loss of words first time that we spoke

Looking for a girl that’ll treat you right
You lookin’ for her in the day time with the light
You might be the type if I play my cards right
I'll find out by the end of the night

[N:] You expect me to just let you hit it
But will you still respect me if you get it

All I can do is try, gimme one chance
What’s the problem I don’t see no ring on your hand

I be the first to admit it, I’m curious about you, you seem so innocent

[N:] You wanna get in my world, get lost in it
Boy I’m tired of running, lets walk for a minute

[Chorus]
Promiscuous girl
Wherever you are
I’m all alone
And it's you that I want

[N:] Promiscuous boy
You already know
That I’m all yours
What you waiting for?

Promiscuous girl
You're teasing me
You know what I want
And I got what you need

[N:] Promiscuous boy
Let's get to the point
Cause we're on a roll
Are you ready?

[Verse]
[N:] Roses are red
Some diamonds are blue
Chivalry is dead
But you're still kinda cute

Hey! I can't keep my mind off you
Where you at, do you mind if I come through

[N:] I’m out of this world come with me to my planet
Get you on my level do you think that you can handle it?

They call me Thomas
last name Crown
Recognize game
I'm a lay mine's down

[N:] I'm a big girl I can handle myself
But if I get lonely I’ma need your help
Pay attention to me I don't talk for my health

I want you on my team
[N:] So does everybody else.

Baby we can keep it on the low
Let your guard down ain’t nobody gotta know
If you with it girl I know a place we can go

[N:] What kind of girl do you take me for?

[Chorus]
Don't be mad, don't get mean
[N:] Don't get mad, don't be mean

Hey! Don't be mad, don't get mean
[N:] Don't get mad, don't be mean

Wait! I don't mean no harm
I can see you with my t-shirt on

I can see you with nothing on
feeling on me before you bring that on

Bring that on
[N:] You know what I mean

Girl, I’m a freak you shouldn't say those things

I’m only trying to get inside your brain
To see if you can work me the way you say

It's okay, it's alright
I got something that you gon' like

Hey is that the truth or are you talking trash
Is your game M.V.P. like Steve Nash

[Chorus]
Promiscuous Girl
Wherever you are
I’m all alone
And its you that I want

[N:] Promiscuous Boy
I'm calling your name
But you're driving me crazy
The way you're making me wait

Promiscuous Girl
You're teasing me
You know what I want
And I got what you need

[N:] Promiscuous Boy
We're one in the same
So we don't gotta play games no more

Introduction to "AIR-WAVE"

Hello, the name's FOREVERMADONNA. This blog is about song reviews for those songs that have been or are about to be released as commerical singles.

Every week, (if not, everyday) I will take a song review it and I will say whether or not it is good, and in addition to, whether I think the artist has done a good enough job with the song to make it their own or are trying to copy someone (i.e. too many Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani wannabes).

Furthermore, there will be ratings for each of the songs reviewed by a scale, (i.e. one for worst and five for an excellent).

If you have a song that you think I should listen to, don't hesitate to let me know. I am open to any song you think is deemed worthy of the ear. From one fan of music to another, please always remember to enjoy music while you can.

Thank you for your input,
FOREVERMADONNA
