Airwave: Kanye West comes up with a 'Classic'

Kanye West has certainly made a name for himself as of late, but the last time I saw him or heard him was when he criticized President George W. Bush's Iraq policy. How funny the President even gets attention from a famous Jesus wearing rapper. Anyway, back to the song, "Classic"; it's not that bad I say, and I like West as a rapper but he needs to stop with the guest spots on song.

He has sufficient talent by myself and no, I don't think he is Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers) and he is a long way off from being the Real Slim Shady but I may be wrong.

Kanye West:]

Can’t buy this, superflyness, like a shyness, your highness
It’s performin’, look how long the line is
That’s what happens when you make ---- that’s timeless
That’s what happens these rappers is the pioneers
What do it take to be a legend like Nas is?
That’s so novice, I’m so polished, I got a right to be a little bit snobbish
I did a little bit of college, semesters it took 2 like Rob Base
To let me figure out this wasn’t my place, the beat slowed til’ you listened to my pace
Cuz I be killin’ shit, but that’s evident, and y’all feelin’ it, but I expected it
If it’s classic it’s gonna last forever than I’m everywhere you never been and better than I ever been

Not bad but not great from what I hear and usually you can count on West to come out with good music but he falls short. It's is just too much stars for one recording room.

Airwave: Nine Inch Nails put their 'Survivalism' to the test

Nine Inch Nails have returned with its spanking new single, "Survivalism" and the album Year Zero (Interscope Records) is not to be released until April 4. The people at Los Angeles radio station KROQ 106.7 were the first to play it, in its entirely and what can I say but lead singer Trent Reznor is a God.

The quick mind of the singer/songwriter is reflected through out and I have been waiting for new material from the band. All is happy from my point of view but, the only sad thing is if you thought that waiting for The Killers new CD Sam's Town was bad, fans will have to wait a little longer for NIN's new offering. Listen to these lyrics:

I should have listened to her
So hard to keep control
We kept on eating but
Our bloated belly's still not full
She gave us all she had but
We went and took some more
Can't seem to shut her legs
Our mother nature is a whore

(chorus:)
I got my propaganda
I got revisionism
I got my violence
In hi-def ultra-realism
All a part of this great nation
I got my fist
I got my plan
I got survivalism

Does that spell a fabulous song or what? I can't wait to hear what the rest of the album sounds like and this is only one piece of the pie. YUMMY!

Mandy Moore thinks you're Extraordinary'

Mandy Moore has returned with a new sound folk, with the single, "Extraordinary" off her yet-to-released CD Wild Hope. And like, I totally love the music of folk. Let me go along the lines of folk, and those of you may not understand but someone else who has done folk, jazz, pop is Joe Henry. The name may not be familiar but you know his sister-in-law Madonna. The Queen of Pop, created "Don't Tell Me" from the song that Henry wrote titled, "Stop" and that is where Moore is going with this song.

And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready to be
Extraordinary

A midnight airplane
A window blowing
I know I am another sparkle in the sky
I shine on copper
Still undiscovered
But you must see me in the corner of your eye

[Chorus]

And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready
And now I’m ready to be
Extraordinary

Another thing is the sound of her voice and its along way from what I am use to hearing from the pop singer. At least she is better than the machine-voice tweaking, helium voiced Britney Spears. No, I will not stop criticizing Spears and the media obsession with her because, oh God, she shaved her head. Spears is no Moore and thank goodness for that.

I say that Moore has matured from that first she was heard and that octave high voice and of course every singer goes through it. I know it, and I don't sing. But accolates to Moore for embracing folk, it's music that will not die away.

Avril Lavigne wants to your 'Girlfriend'

Avril Lavigne returns with the song, "Girlfriend" from the upcoming Best Damn Thing (RCA Records) and it sounds like that 'Hey Mickey' song. What inspiration! Yes, and she has never sounded better. I am so glad that she's back that I've missed her so much. Fans, like me were wondering what happened during the time that's she been away. Thank goodness she didn't wait that long to come back. This song is so good and Lavigne hasn't lost her edge for her own music.

I love the lyrics to all of them are in your face and she gives you her thoughts about the other ----- your after. I love it. You, will definitely have to pick up the CD but then again the only down side is the fact that the public will have to wait until April 17 for the album to come out. ----!! The in-your-face quality of Lavigne is something that Britney Spears should pick up on, if she ever decides to come back to music. But I wouldn't hold my breath for Spears.

Don't pretend
I think you know
I'm damn precious
And hell yeah
I'm the mother f------ princess
I can tell you like me too
And you know I'm right
( I'm right I'm right I'm right)

She's like so whatever
You can do so much better
I think we should get together now
And that's what everyone's talking about

Hey hey, you you
I don't like your girlfriend
No way no way
I think you need a new one
Hey hey, you you
I could be your girlfriend

Can someone get that through Spears' head, she is no Lavigne and thank God because the only thing that Spears is there for and famous for is her face. That's it! Lavigne on the other hand, is famous because of the brilliant music writing she possesses and that's something Spears doesn't do! That -----!

Airwave: Good Charlotte go to 'The River'

Good Charlotte has returned to the delight of this fan. I was beginning to question if they had, had it already but have returned with its latest single, "The River" off the upcoming album March 22 release Good Morning Revival (Sony Records). Their multiple piercings, shaved heads, and abundant tattoos have them labeled a punk band, but on their fourth album, Good Charlotte--led by twin brothers Joel (lead vocals) and Benji (lead guitar) Madden--fall much more under the umbrella of 1970s arena rock and mainstream ballads.

There is the occasional foray into the pop-punk mode of previous records, including the distorted-vocal rap "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl" and "Broken Hearts Parade," which sounds like Green Day with horns. It's easy to see the maturation in the Maddens' songwriting on such tracks as "The River," a surveillance of the inner workings of Los Angeles, the grass-is-greener pop song "Something Else," and "Where Would We Be," a break-up ballad about Joel Madden's split with pop princess Hilary Duff.

With a piano lead and strident chorus, Madden admits, "Now I must confess that I'm a sinking ship/And I'm anchored by the weight of my heart." Browbeaten in theory, like sister songs "Misery," "Victim of Love," and "Break Her Heart," Good Morning Revival offers hints of optimism that grow with the record and reach the summit with the closing pop song, "March On." The harmonic chorus jubilantly declares, "Like soldiers we can make it through the night/We'll see the sun/March on." Whether punkers or mainstream rockers, it's apparent that Good Charlotte will continue the march.

But I swear I'm a believer
Like the prodigal son
I was out on my own
Now I'm trying to find my way back home
Baptized in the river
I'm delivered
I'm delivered

Baptized in the river (on my own)
Baptized in the river (on my own)
I wanna be delivered
(on my own)
(on my own)
Baptized in the river (on my own)
I wanna be delivered
Baptized in the river (on my own)
I wanna be delivered
Baptized in the river (on my own)
I wanna be delivered

I confess I'm a sinner
I've seen a vision of my life
And I wanna be delivered

Airwave: Upcoming CD from Joss Stone

Here is your first look at Joss Stone new album Introducing Joss Stone that will be released in March. I first heard Stone when I got her debut and follow-up CDs, and heard that actor Tom Cruise was praising her. I thought at first that I would not give her a chance to have her music played. But that all changed when I heard her voice.

I was like, "Whoa!" what a voice! And yes, what a voice it is, and I can't wait to hear this album. From hearing her first single, she has really matured which, is great, and another thing is that she is not turning into Britney Spears. What also is appealing is the album cover too. Just look at that shot, and with red in it. COOL!

Airwave: Fall Out Boy is on 'High'

Thank God Fall Out Boy is back with its new CD Infinity on High (Island Records) because I have been waiting for this album for a while. Man, I gotta say that its the most satisfying album out there as well. And the lead single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," it's brilliant. When I heard it on Los Angeles rock station KROQ 106.7 I was like that is a brilliant song. Let me repeat a brilliant song. However, not to be out done is the rest of the album is where the band shines the most.

1. Thriller
2. Take Over, The Breaks Over
3. This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
4. I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me + Y
5. Hum Hallelujah
6. Golden
7. THNKS Fr TH MMRS
8. Don't You Know Who I Think I Am?
9. (After) Life of the Party
10. Carpal Tunnel of Love
11. Bang the Doldrums
12. Fame
13. You're Crashing, But You're No Wave - Fall Out Boy, Butch Walker
14. I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None on My Fingers

To have 14 tracks, yes, count them 14 is as good as it gets. And the four tracks I paid attention to was of course the lead single, as well as, "Thiller" when it says:

That summer we took threes across the park
But by fall we were a cover story
Now in stores
Make us poster boys in the scene
For we are not making our accepting speech
I have found the safest place to keep all of our mistakes
Every dot com's refreshing for a journal update

So long live the car-crash heart
Lie on the couch till the poets come to life
Fix me in 45

Take Over, The Break's Over:

We do it in the dark, with smiles on our faces.
we're trapped and well concealed, in secret places (woah).
We do it in the dark, with smiles on our faces.
we're trapped and well concealed, in secret places.
We don't fight fair.
With smiles on our faces.
we're trapped and well concealed, in secret places.

Don't pretend you ever forgot about me.
Don't pretend you ever forgot about me.
We don't fight fair.

And Carpal Tunnel of Love:

It was ice cream headaches and sweet avalanche
When the pearls in our shells came out to dance
You call me a bad tipper of the cradle
But I’m tired yawns for fawns on hunter’s lawns
We’re the has-beens of husbands
Sharpening the knives of young wives
Take two years and call me when you're better
Take teardrops of mine, find yourself wetter

Whoa ah oh we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa ah oh lovesongs so genuinely c------
Whoa ah oh we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa ah oh lovesongs so genuinely c------

What more is there to say?

Airwave: Ashley Tisdale is 'Headstrong'

If your impressions of Ashley Tisdale are fuzzy around the edges but include visions of singing schoolgirls, blond supercuteness, and shrieking, hysterical 10-year-olds, you'll want to check them at the door before checking out Headstrong.

It's not that fourth graders won't like the long-limbed High School Musical star's hooky, happy, and at times hyper solo debut. It's just that you might, too. Tisdale, a little like Lindsey Lohan and not at all like Hilary Duff, doesn't waste time ditching her groovy-juvie reputation to reimagine herself as a red-hot starlet here.

"He Said She Said" is a steamy dancefloor seduction that ought to come with a PG-15 rating ("Baby I can see us moving like that/Baby I can see us touchin' like that," it goes), and "Not Like That" mines familiar misunderstood-celebrity territory in a way that's less whiny than worked-up.

The thing is, it all sounds pretty good--from the head-bobbing urban beat in "Be Good to Me" to the fuzz and boingy effects on "Over It," Tisdale proves her appeal is not limited to junior proms. Which is not to say she doesn't leave a little something for fans who still dot their I's with circles: One of Headstrong's strongest numbers, "Unlove You," is tailor-made for belt-outs in pastel-pink bedrooms.

Move over Hilary Duff could I say that sound a hell of a lot better than you and your sister Halie. No, no, the whole thing with the remake of Madonna's hit, "Material Girl" for the movie, Material Girls had the words, "Downfall" written all over it when I heard it on the official website. I scratched my head. However, that doesn't happen with Tisdale.

Sure, sure that critics will say that she is trying to be Britney Spears but Spears helium voice works again her and Tisdale, thank goodness doesn't have a machine that is trying to make her sound like she is singing. If that were to happen it's Minnell Vanille all over again.

Tracklisting:
1. Intro
2. So Much For You
3. He Said, She Said
4. Be Good To Me
5. Not Like That
6. Unlove You
7. Positivity
8. Love Me For Me
9. Goin Crazy
10. Over It
11. Don't Touch (The Zoom Song)
12. We'll Be Together
13. Headstrong
14. Suddenly
